Discussion:
Kill "Stop Sharing Location" Popup when Deleting Text

When deleting read texts to/from people who I share location with in
Find My, a popup forces a yes/no choice to stop sharing location with
that person.

Any way to kill that?

This is a helpful and rational behaviour of your iPhone given you delete
messages from "friends". We are talking only about iMsg, right?
Post by Colour Sergeant Bourne
Any way to kill that?
AFAIK, no. Beware: I share my location only with my wife and I would
never delete messages from or to her in iMsg.

For me, I like to keep my iPhone's Messages app empty if possible. I don't like to hoarde.

I want past conversations available for reference. My memory isn't
what it used to be. The only conversations I manually delete are ones
I know will never be needed again like appointment confirmations, two
factor PINS, spam, etc.

iMessages has a setting where messages older than xx days are
automatically deleted. That may be an acceptable solution.

Exactly this. I only keep the important ones. I wished there was a way
to organize in archiving like e-mails like put them in KEEP folders.

I don't use that since I want to review and delete them manually.

My question was to the original poster as to why they delete messages
from people they trust enough to share their location with. It seems
you save messages from trusted people.

Keeping more than a message or two on your phone has a new definition =
hoarding.

Some users have hundreds of them. Yes, I do keep a few recent ones.
Those are fine. I just don't understand why some people keep years and
even decades. They even keep those expired 2FA SMSes. :/

Reminiscence? Short messages with codes? If you delete them, nobody
cares and you will not get location messages.

Primarily on advice of counsel-- prevents the cops or Customs and Border
Protection officers from finding evidence of international drug
trafficking and money laundering activities ;-)

Well, counsel should have warned you about sharing your location with
drug dealers too. If one gets caught then all get caught.
